• Scott Billie
Married to Cybil Leighann Watkins in 1998. She was working as a flight attendant. We meet on her plane, got engaged six months later and then married six months after that. We have two children. Sophia Rose, July 2000 and Jonathan "Kyle", December 2001. Currently an instructor in the Systems Engineering Dept at ALMC, primarily instructing in ORSA MAC I. PCSing to the the Math Dept this summer. New poop as of 31 Jan 2004: Things are going well here. Teaching Prob and Stats this semester (along with Sabermetrics...baseball statistics). I will be PCSing this summer to go to grad school. I got picked up to come back as a rotating PhD. That will take me out to 28 years...wow!
• John (Hof) Brau (as of 22 Feb 2004) I've got to get better keeping this thing updated. Passing Laura's update to everyone and getting back in touch with folks has inspired me. My quick update is... got married in May of last year to a gal from Tallahasse HS days whom I dated a little while at Woops. We remet at our 20th HS reunion. She is finising up a teaching committment at SW Missouri State University in Springfield, MO where she teaches Theater and Dance and will join me this May in Monterey. She and my son, Will (13 years old from my first marriage) love each other a lot. Couldn't have asked for a better deal. Will (and the EX) are doing great in Tallahasee. I've been in the AGR program going on five years. The Army Reserve blessed me with a school slot to attend the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey for a degree in Ops Research and I just hit the list for LTC (I lost a little time getting out of Active Duty for 3.5 years....No biggie) School is hurting every one of my HPA/History brain cells that are remaining, which aren't many. I gradate summer '05 if I squeak by the dean. Rekindled the old days when Rock drove over from Sacramento to party with me for the Army Navy Game. We tried to drink our blues away concerning the game. I also talked to Ed Hendricks for quite some time today and we plan a link-up soon to swap war stories since we are neighbors with him hanging his hat in Santa Cruz. Ya'll send me any updates and I'll post them. We need to start thinking of our big Two- Oh (20th) and I hope everyone plans to attend. God Bless the troops, especially Laura.
• Laura Carew (Loftus) (Updated 10 March 04) Also, here's an update on Laura. She's actually been discharged from Walter Reed to a holding facility there in the area... a place called the Malone House. She'll be there thru Friday then (I'm guessing) she ships out to Carson. The number at the Malone House is (202) 782-4600 and you'll have to ask to be connected (I didn't get a direct dial). We spoke very briefly as she was on her way out the door to go to rehab. She mentioned that she was excited to be seeing Tim Knight today. I told her I'd give her a shout later in the day. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 22 Feb 04)Thanks to Rock Rice, Kathie Stewart and Ed Hendricks for helping to pull together the intel on Laura's accident. Cliff's notes version is: Laura got banged up in a bad vehicle accident in Iraq. She was evacuated to Walter Reed once she was stabilized approximately ten days ago. I tracked her down at the hospital and talked to her for a little bit. She answered the phone and was very weak. She perked up hearing my voice, probably surprised that I was sober. Seriously, she was very groggy but the surgery went well and she was still doped up from it. She has five broken vertebrae... the Docs put a rod into her back yesterday and they are hoping that she is done with the head and back surgeries. She had some head surgery while in Iraq. The only residual affect of the accident re' her head wounds is that she can't remember the six days after the accident... which, her Dad thinks is best left unremembered. She probably will need an orthoscopic operation to repair a torn ligament in her leg, but that won't be for some time. Prognosis overall is good. She will be in rahab for quite some time and expects to be in Walter Reed for months. Her Dad has been with her since she returned state-side and will be bed-side with her for a while. He said she is walking pretty well, although the pain is REAL bad. Laura would love calls from us Bandits, but her Dad is targeting her bedtime for 1900 EST. Please don't call after 1900 EST. • Ken Carrick Updated 22 Feb 04 - Good to hear from you Bro. Sounds good. Update is the following... So what are you doing at NPS? Beautiful place, huh? I was there from '93-'96 and it was heaven. I got my degree in Info Tech Mgt in the Systems Mgt department. I think now that curriculum is an MBA with an emphasis in IT. What are you going for? We're doing fine and ready to move on out of Florida. Got a PM job back in the motherland and will take over as PM EPLRS/SINCGARS in July at Ft Monmouth. All is well. Keep in touch buddy. Updated (28 Feb 04) Hey, Johnnie, Talk about weird. This is the first time I've ever accessed my AKA email account (I've had an AKO account for over 2 years and never felt like I needed the email acct since I've got 2 other ones I use all the time) and your message was sitting on top of the stack of 21 unread messages! What do you know?! So, what the hell are you up to now, dude? I'm stationed at Ft. Lewis working at Madigan Army Med Ctr. I did a fellowship in Colorectal Surgery in 2001-2 in Minnesota and I've been at Lewis since. Did a stint in Afghanistan last year attached to a Forward Surgical Team. My wife, Joan, and I have 2 kids, Mark (3 in April) and Luke 6. We like living in Tacoma, even though it rains alot in the winter. Todd McCaffrey is stationed here, but I'm pretty sure he's over in Iraq now. We haven't gotten together yet...seems there are so many things going on in our separate lives that we never found the time after I got back from Afghanistan last March. Hope to hear from you soon. Update (28 Feb 2004)As for me, I'm now living farther north than I ever imagined... in Rochester Hills, Michigan (about 20 miles north of the Motor City). We even have an ice skating rink in the park behind our house (... a difficult concept for this Texan to understand...). ------------------------------------------ Hof - Long time no talk!! (I can't remember if you were at the 10-yr reunion... too many beers, I guess). DART sent me your e-mail address. The world never ceases to amaze me... You as a "tech geek" (or at least someone conversant enough to set up a pretty good web-site)... Good job! I enjoyed seeing what our company-mates are up to, Life over the last 16 or so years has been interesting for me, with stints in El Paso, Germany, Virginia, Colorado, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania & Kansas. The interesting part is that most of these moves were not with the Army. I got out of the Army in the summer of '93. That summer, I got married and became a Tennessee Volunteer. In '95, after 2 years of hearing "Rocky Top", I earned my MBA and started working for CSX, where I stayed for 2 years - one year in Jacksonville & one year near Atlanta. I decided I didn't want to work on the railroad all my live-long days, so I accepted a job with Penske Logistics in '97. I started with Penske in Reading, PA, but moved to Overland Park about 3 years ago. I've held a couple of different quality or operational jobs. Currently, I'm a Six-Sigma Quality Manager (a "stats guy"...which is even scarier than you as a "tech guy"). Lately, I've been spending about 1/2 of my time in the Buckeye state. Lynn and I have one daughter - Anna (8) - who is the greatest kid!!! I love being a dad and going to the soccer games, softball games, campouts, etc.. Hoffmeister Brau, How goes the war in USAREC? Didn't know we had a Bandits page going. Here is the Goulette update: Married in 1991 to a woman named Suzanne Murphy. Have 3 kids: Cadie 7, Nate 6, and Jack 5. Served in the 82nd and 1st Cav before going into the Acquisition Corps and going off to grad school. Served as a Math P from 97-99 (God got even with me) - saw several Bandits in passing during that stint. Am currently the Assistant Project Manager in PM Forward Looking Infrared at Fort Belvoir. Will rotate out this summer, am looking at a weenie job in the Pentagon on the "dark side." Living in Northern Virginia and should stay here until retirement, then it's back to the Northeast for who knows what, but golfing and fishing will be heavily involved.

(as of 17 Jan 03) Hello all! How does one catch up on 16 years in a few sentences? Well, I spent 9 years in the Army. I flew Blackhawks and had a fun command in Fort Ord and in Panama. I went back to teach finance at West Point via Harvard Business School...that was a lot of fun and it was nice to come back to West Point and not have to pay Carrick to clean my room. I got married in business school to Beth. We now have two kids (Casey and Robbie). Since leaving the Army, I was an investment banker in New York and then LA. More recently, I have been in the Private Equity business. About three year ago, my partner and I founded our own firm, ClearLight Partners. We have a $300 million fund that looks to purchase middle market companies...it's a hell of a lot of fun. I now live in Manahattan Beach, CA and work in Newport Beach. I hope you are all well! • Mary Huston (updated 22 Feb 04) Hi johnny, After graduation i attended flight school, where i met chris. 16 years of marriage later, there is matt 8, alex 6, and claire 4. did my initial tour at bragg jumping out of airplanes and flying. joined the guard. have had some great jobs. have been a stay at home mom since matt was born, with the exception of last year when i deployed for oef/oif. quite a change of day to day responsibilities. probably hardest on chris and the kids. in jan took command of the 217th psb, ncarng. we live in raleigh. blessings to all, mary

Great to get an e-mail from you and appreciate your efforts on the Web site. Here's my update. Left the Army in '91 and spent 4 years in Hawaii and Australia as a bartender and surfing madman. From '95 to the '00 I was a ski and snow board instructor in Aspen and over the last two years I have moved back to Minnesota and got a small cabin in the woods where I am giving it my best shot at being Grizzly Adams. The real deal... Followed through on the 2% club two weeks after graduation by "marrying up" and marrying Annie. Spent 5 years and one day in LA, (That's the Lawton Area, as in Fort Sill) Since '91 I have worked for a number of Medical companies to include Genzyme and Boston Scientific in both Sales and Marketing. The past year I have been part of starting a new Medical device company with a few former Boston Scientific employees and am having a lot of fun busting my butt trying to get this thing off the ground. Living back home in the "Great White Nort"; Minneapolis area and have a hat-trick (three) wonderful daughters. Allie (12), Libby (8) and Kelly (5). There is still some hope that my youngest may get some "black skates" and follow in Dad's footsteps since her two older sisters have decided to emulate Michelle Kwan. Still playing some hockey and trying to re-live the glory days, but mostly spend my free time with the family enjoying God's country and the great outdoors. I often sit under the stars up here and wonder what ever became of CPT Dickey. I bet the Dali-lama has had visions of him leading a group of Sherpa's up the big mount in search of fame. (Johnny B, ask Spanky if he has the visions.) I look forward to the other updates and a possible Bandit get together at the next reunion. Kappy

Hof: It has been too long! I hope that this finds you well with lots of hair - well, maybe at least you're well. I know, I shouldn't be such a smart#$%@ when we haven't touched base since graduation, but I couldn't resist. I love the idea of getting the website up and running so thanks for all your work. To the best of my knowledge, I was the only Bandit at last year's reunion, and we just have to have some kind of function as a company at the 20 year mark. The website will be a great vehicle to get something going. Anyhow, below is my blurb (try not to fall asleep): I got out of the Army in early 1992, and met my wife, Pam, late the next year. We were married in 1995, and now live just outside Akron, Ohio, with our two kids, Jaclyn (3) and Justin (2). We had quite the adventure with Jaclyn since we adopted her from Russia when she was 6 months old. I never thought that I would stand in Moscow's Red Square with my daughter who would have a passport with "CCCP" and the hammer and sickle! As a testament of God's grace (and sense of humor), our son was born just a year later. Since Pam and I are both from northeast Ohio, we really enjoy this area and being close to our families. From the work perspective, I did short stints with Procter & Gamble (Connecticut and Cincinnati) and Rubbermaid (Wooster, OH) before joining The Sherwin-Williams Company (Cleveland) in 1995. I have held a few positions here, and am presently the President & General Manager of the Diversified Brands Division. Thanks again for spinning up the website, and please let me know if you are ever in the area. I will also try to look you up if I ever travel your way.

Its great to see a few lines about old friends. I'm finishing a two year assignment at USSOCOM in Tampa. My wife Lisa and I have three wonderful children, Michael (8), Sara (7), and Andrew (3)- we've been very blessed. We're PCSing to Fort Lewis, WA in mid-May where I'll take command of 1-5 IN in June. I keep in regular contact with Terry McKenrick ( mckenrit@eucom.mil ) - I've forwarded your original email to him. Currently, he's at EUCOM following three years in the Ranger Rgt. Johnny, how you doing? It's been a long time since we were together in the good old days back in Hawaii. Hope life at Ft Knox and USAREC is treating you well. I can't believe Will is 11 already - time flies! I work just upstairs from Mark Armstrong and he says hello. Do you keep in touch with any other old Catamounts? I had comms with Rob Harris until I lost him a couple years ago. I also work across the street from another old Bandit, Rick Steiner, who's in Special Forces and keeping busy working in Special Operations Command - Europe. I'm enjoying a relaxing tour here in Germany - lots of TDY and family travel. Liz is doing great and says hello. Christian is almost 8 now and since we last saw you, we've added a couple more to our clan - Mariah is 5 and Justice is 3. • Gary Pearcy (10 March 04) A (very) quick update on myself - I too am on marriage #2 - the best one yet! Wife, Laurie, and I were friends & scholastic competitors growing up - she's been one of my sister's best friends over the years and we hooked up as I was leaving the Army in '97. I was in Alabama and she was in New Orleans, and we're now together in Connecticut. My 10-yr old son lives in AL w/ his mother and is doing well. We have a 15 yr-old daughter who is with us. I left the Army after stints in Deutchland (2d ACR), 1st Gulf War, 82d Airborne, and finally at Ft. Rucker standing up the Air Manuever Battle Center. I left the Army for a job with General Electric, did some IT auditing work then transfered to NBC in NYC. Did that train commute into the city for 2 years and recently transferred back to another GE business here in CT. Much like I did while I was in the military, I continue to change jobs and locations every few years... feels like a habit. Reading some of our classmates' updates, I'm jealous! Look at Wizzy down there in FL working his tan & golf game... or Kappy's Big Adventures on the surf and on the slopes! What about Pastor Kostich... who knew?

• Joe Scarupinski I stayed in the army 11 years as a tactical MI officer. 5 years with an airborne brigade/light infantry battalion. Got to do all the fun stuff like airborne, ranger, SERE school. Then 5 years with the 1st CAV Div. Did not go to Desert Storm, as I was defending Korea. Married in 1995, divorced in 1998. My ex-wife decided that she would rather have a career as a doctor than have children. Left the Army in 1997 and went to work for Texas Instruments. Enjoy the job and the company. Currently I am the Business IT Manager for all of TI's manufacturing Subcons-sounds more impressive then it actually is. I have also traveled more for TI then I ever did in the army. I make a tour of Asia at least once a year - Executive Platinum frequent flyer. Currently I am engaged to be married in December of this year.

• Rick Steiner Hey Johnny, How's life. I am running ops into Africa from my little CP here in SOCEUR J3 and loving life. I am busy as a one armed wall paper hanger, but it's great. I have been to Angola, Guinea, and Mali since February, plus I just got back from 8 days in South Africa last Friday. Wife (the original one of 16 years) and two kids (Jessica 15 and Jack 6) are doing great.

• Dave Urban Great to hear from you - I applaud your efforts - the site looks great and it's a wonderful opportunity to get back in touch with everyone - as you may remember I was good friends with Doug Gurian (our classmate who was killed on 9/11 in the WTC) and Dickey and I re-connected after that (he and I went to law school together) - without sounding too sentimental, the state of world events really focused me on how fortunate I have been in my own life and how lucky I am to be associated with so many quality individuals - here's my story since graduation - 101st until after returning from Gulf War - 91- 94 law school (Temple University) - graduate school (University of Pennsylvania) - 94-97 lawyer at a large Philly law firm - 97- 02 Chief of Staff for US Senator Arlen Specter in Washington DC - 02 to present partner in a government consulting/lobbying firm - I married my wife Tara in 97 and we have a great little13 month-old son, Nicholas - we live in Olde Town Alexandria and I work in DC - I look forward to hearing from folks - thanks again! From Woo Poo, I went to basic at Fort Swell with a lot of other jocks in sunny Oklahoma, then a short three year drunk in Germany, then went on back to LA (Lawton America) where I prepared myself for the exodus. I landed a job in Dallas hocking surgical products, and somewhat stayed with the same company where I am now pretty much doing the same thing as a distributor. • Troy Wilson It's the Mooksman hitting the scene. I had no idea this website was up and running. I have been following some folks but got out after 9 long years. Currently, I manage a telecommunications/electrical house in Washington, DC. I see the Tinman is in Washington, DC with a Virginia area code. It is great to see folks doing so well. I live on a 100 acre farm and have 4 rugrats now. I will put all of my contact information below. Good to see the updates.
• Dave Wisnosky  Currently working for Cordis, a Johnson and Johnson Company, in Miami Lakes, Florida.  The weather here is absolutely beautiful and much appreciated after many years dealing with the cold and snow in the Northeast.  Working on my golf game since there is no problem playing year round.  Married, for the second time(can you believe that), and have a son who doesn't stop talking, he likes to say he will chew your ear off.  That's all for now as I need to get back to working on my tan.
